Firefighters have contained a fire that was burning at a recycling plant in Phoenix.

The Phoenix Fire Department arrived at the scene near 29th Avenue and Lincoln just after 10 a.m. and found a large fire burning in a metal debris pile.

"Firefighters quickly set up ladder trucks to flow water on the fire from surrounding positions and keep the flames from extending while heavy machinery assisted in access to the burning contents," Capt. Scott Douglas said.

Over 50 firefighters fought the fire, which was eventually extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but investigators told FOX 10 metals that rubbed against each other may have sparked the flames.
