"HERE, DAMN."

That was how KFC sassily announced the return of its potato wedges, giving into pressure from customers.

The restaurant also said it's Hot & Spicy Wings will return.

When will the potato wedges and wings return to restaurants?

What's next:

In a news release, KFC said the menu items will return August 18 to KFCs nationwide.

Why are the menu items returning?

The backstory:

KFC said it brought back the menu items after years of public demand and thousands of social media pleas. The wedges first appeared on menus in the mid-1990s but were discontinued in 2020. However, a surprise re-release in Tampa, Florida, sent local fans flocking to the fast food chain, resulting in early sellouts at several locations.

The Hot & Spicy Wings returned nearly two years ago.

What they're saying:

"Wedge-lovers, we heard you—and we agree it's been five long years without wedges. But the wait is over," Catherine Tan-Gillespie, President, KFC U.S., said in a news release. "This isn't just a nostalgic nod. It's an example of how we're turning feedback into action as we chart our Kentucky Fried Comeback, a bold, brand-wide rally to give people more reasons to fall in love with us all over again."
