Man arrested in connection with fatal shooting during argument

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- Phoenix police say a 20-year-old man is in custody, in connection with the shooting death of a man at a home Monday.

According to a statement, officers responded to the 1800 block of W. Charleston Avenue at around 6:20 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

Witnesses told police they saw the victim, identified as 21-year-old Jeffrey O'Connell, arguing with the suspect, 20-year-old Ethaniel I. Anselmo.

Anselmo then shot O'Connell numerous times. Police say O'Connell was pronounced dead at the scene and he and Anselmo knew each other.

Anselmo has been booked into jail on a charge of first-degree murder.
