Phoenix house fire sends man to hospital in critical condition
A man is in extremely critical condition after being pulled from a burning home in Phoenix near 21st Street and Indian School Road. FOX 10's Danielle Miller reports.
PHOENIX - A man is fighting for his life after being pulled from a burning home on Thursday night in Phoenix.
What we know:
Phoenix Fire says crews on April 2 responded to reports of a house fire near 21st Street and Indian School Road just after 9 p.m.
Once at the scene, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the home.
"Crews quickly pulled handlines into the house to fight the blaze while simultaneously clearing the house of all occupants," Capt. DJ Lee said. "During the search they found one adult male and quickly pulled him from the house and transported him to a hospital in extremely critical condition."
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to any other homes. No firefighters were hurt.
What we don't know:
The man wasn't identified. It's unknown what sparked the flames.
