Man dies after getting pinned between dump trucks in Peoria

Police say a man has died after he was pinned between two dump trucks in Peoria on Monday morning near 75th Avenue and Olive.

According to officials, "Preliminary investigation showed that one dump truck was parked and unoccupied. The second dump truck was parked, backed up to the first truck, with the driver conducting a pre-trip check in between the two. It is believed that the parking brake was not engaged on the second truck and the truck rolled backwards, pinning the driver between the two trucks."

Investigators stated another driver in the parking lot witnessed what happened and moved the truck to free the man, then provided lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived at the scene.

The man has been identified as 50-year-old Arturo Perez from Tolleson, AZ.

"The Peoria Police Department's Traffic Services Unit is still investigating this incident; however, impairment does not appear to be a factor in this accident. There does not appear to be anything suspicious about this tragic incident," stated officials.
