Man shot in N. Richland Hills road rage shooting

A man drove himself to the hospital after he was shot in the leg in what appears to be a road rage incident.

Police in the Fort Worth suburb of North Richland Hills said it happened on Loop 820 near Rufe Snow Drive around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

The man told police he saw another car approaching him from behind and tapped his brakes.

"The driver of the vehicle that was following tried to whip around him and when the vehicle became door to door the passenger window of the suspect was down and a single gunshot was fired from the suspect's vehicle into the victim's vehicle," said Officer Keith Bowman with the North Richland Hills Police Department.

Police have not released any information on the vehicle they are looking for in the shooting.

The victim, a man in his 30s, is recovering at the hospital.

"When you see a situation like this where somebody is accelerating on you the only thing you can do is brake and give them the option to pass you. Then, he did the exact thing he needed to after the incident occurred. He got away from the vehicle," Bowman said.
