Motorcyclist killed on Cave Creek Road

A motorcyclist was hit and killed by a driver in north Phoenix, and police say impairment may have been a factor in the crash.

The deadly accident happened near Cave Creek and Thunderbird Roads. Investigators say both the motorcycle and a car were heading in the same direction when the crash happened. The motorcyclist died at the scene, and the 52-year-old driver of the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver is suspected of driving impaired and may be facing serious charges.

Thunderbird Road is shut down from Cave Creek to 7th Street while officers investigate.
