'Mummies of the World' coming to Arizona Science Center in February

PHOENIX (FOX 10) - It's the largest collection in the world and now it's in downtown Phoenix. The Arizona Science Center announced their newest exhibit, "Mummies of the World," which debuts February 10.

The latest installment of the exhibition was delivered on January 30 from Budapest, Hungary. The trucks arrived with a police escort.

"When we think about mummies, we instantly go to Egypt, but there's a great and vast array of mummies from all over the world that we'll be able to see in this exhibition," said Sari Custer of the Arizona Science Center.

Guests will have a chance to come face-to-face with the largest collection of real mummies ever assembled.

The science center is also adding to the exhibit, giving guests a hands-on experience with interactive activities provided by their "Blue Crew" for the entire family to enjoy.

"Puzzles, hieroglyphics, a little bit more about mummification, flower mummification and a whole array throughout the entire run of the exhibition just to make it fun!" Custer said.
