Phoenix Police: North Phoenix woman's dog was not stolen
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - There's a new twist in claims that a North Phoenix woman's dog was stolen in a robbery.
According to initial reports by Phoenix Police, the incident took place on Wednesday night. The woman, according to police, reported she was walking her pitbill dog near the 2010 block of W. Union Hills Drive when a man "approached and shoved her" from behind, stole her dog, and then fled in a car.
On Thursday, Sgt. Vincent Lewis with Phoenix Police said further investigations by robbery detectives have revealed another half of the story. The incident, Lewis said, now appears to be a dispute between parties, and that a "robbery" did not take place.
The dog, however, is still missing, and an investigation is ongoing.
