Police investigating shooting in Avondale

AVONDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Avondale.

Avondale police say the shooting happened near El Mirage and Lower Buckeye Road and when officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he is in surgery.

Investigators say the suspect is described as a balding man who was last seen driving a black pickup truck.
