Police: Man shot, killed in Laveen neighborhood

LAVEEN, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police say a man was shot and killed in Laveen following an altercation on Tuesday night.

Phoenix police say officers responded to a home near 51st Avenue and Southern at about 10:30 p.m. and found a 28-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Investigators believe the shooting may be related to an argument between two groups of people in the area at about 8 p.m. Police do not believe this shooting is related to the serial street shootings in Phoenix.
