Retired Arizona Supreme Court judge to head hospital probe

PHOENIX (AP) - Retired Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Ruth McGregor will head a special investigation into allegations of physical and sexual misconduct at the Arizona State Hospital.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced the move Tuesday.

Ducey says he's confident that McGregor will conduct a thorough and impartial investigation that will put the state hospital on the right path.

Three state executives have lost their jobs following accusations that severely mentally ill patients at the state hospital were sexually abused.

The departures occurred after media reports that detailed how allegations of misconduct went unreported and uninvestigated.
