Scottsdale Police: Woman arrested after her friend jumped out of moving car and died
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- Scottsdale Police officials say a 21-year-old woman has been arrested for alleged DUI, after an incident near Downtown Scottsdale that resulted in a woman's death.
According to a statement released Friday, the incident happened Thursday night, when Scottsdale Police officers responded to the 6500 block of Indian School Road for numerous calls of a person who was down. When officers arrived, they found an injured adult woman in the middle of the roadway. That woman, identified by Scottsdale Police as 24-year-old Summer Leann Crosswhite, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Scottsdale Police officials say investigators later determined that Kiser and Crosswhite, who was her friend, had been drinking in Downtown Scottsdale. Kiser then decided to drive home in a red Ford Mustang with Crosswhite in the front passenger seat. As the car was heading west on Indian School, Kiser and Crosswhite got into an argument, and at some point, Crosswhite opened the passenger door, and jumped out of the car.
Kiser, according to police, stopped the car and remained on scene.
