Stolen vehicle pursuit ends in Whittier with several individuals taken into custody

WHITTIER, Calif. (FOX 11) - A police chase that began in El Monte Friday night abruptly ended in the Whittier area after the suspect vehicle began smoking.

Six people exited from the stolen car, according to the California Highway Patrol. The chase exited onto Whittier Boulevard from the 605 freeway.

All individuals were taken into police custody.

No further details were immediately known.
