Suspect hospitalized following shooting involving US Marshals
PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Phoenix police say a suspect has been hospitalized following an officer-involved shooting involving the U.S. Marshals violent offender task force.
According to Phoenix police, the shooting happened at an apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Dunlap.
The suspect was a fugitive and fired shots at law enforcement before officers returned fire, striking the suspect.
Police say the suspect has non-life threatening injuries.
No law enforcement officers were injured.
Just hours before this shooting, the Phoenix Police Department was involved in another officer-involved shooting near 35th Street and Oak.
No officers were injured in that shooting.
This marks the 44th officer-involved shooting in Phoenix in 2018.
In 2017, the city had 21 officer-involved shootings.
