Water service gets restored to town of Bowie

Cochise Sheriff's deputies say water service was restored for hundreds of people in one southern Arizona community on Saturday.

The town of Bowie had water levels tested at community wells that needed to be repaired to make sure they met environmental standards in Arizona. The wells provide water to 500 people and had to be shut down temporarily on Friday. Several agencies worked together to test the water levels and make sure that water service could be restored.

The Bowie Water Company turned the water back on Saturday afternoon once the tests were completed.
