Contreras Fire scorches thousands of acres in southern Arizona, reaches Kitt Peak National Observatory

The fire reached Kitt Peak National Observatory where several telescopes are located. "They do a wide variety of research, optical imaging of stars and galaxies to very high resolutions measurements," explains observatory director Lori Allen.
