Arizona weather forecast: Winter weather makes a comeback this week
Cloudy and quiet weather continues through your Superbowl Sunday.
This week will bring active weather, including clouds, rain, snow and cooler temperatures.
A series of upper level troughs will cross Arizona, bringing in moisture and lift for rain to develop.
Looking Ahead:
The week will start quietly, with more warm temperatures, and rounds of clouds crossing the state on Monday. The Kaibab Plateau may see some light rain and snow showers through the late morning and afternoon.
Tuesday will be a cooler, partly cloudy day, with breezy winds across southern Arizona. The more active weather will arrive on Wednesday, bringing mountain snow, low elevation rain, breezy winds and cooler temperatures.
Rain in Phoenix?:
The Metro could even see light, isolated rain on Wednesday through Thursday morning.
Another system will bring even more scattered rain showers, mountain snow and breezy winds on Friday. The weather will likely clear out by Saturday morning.
As of now, there is some uncertainty as to just how much rain and snow to expect, but the heaviest precipitation will fall on Wednesday and Friday.
