Crews battling wildfire in Sycamore Canyon Wilderness

Officials with the Coconino National Forest say about 100 fire personnel are battling the Sycamore Fire that is burning northwest of Sedona.

In a statement, officials say the fire, which is human caused, was reported at around 10:20 a.m. near the Taylor Cabin Trail, and firefighting resources include four helicopters, five crews, and three engines. The fire, as of Monday night, has charred 230 acres of land, and it is determined to have started burning on the west side of the canyon, about 14m miles northwest of Sedona.

Officials say the wildfire is 25 percent contained.

No structures are immediately threatened at this time.
