22-year-old man dead following crash

AVONDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A 22-year-old man has died, following a crash Monday afternoon in the West Valley.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened in the area of 113rd Avenue and Indian School Road. A silver car that was traveling west hit a white car that was traveling east, which caused serious damage.

The victim was identified as Daniel Catalan, who was sitting at the front of the white car. The car's driver, 19-year-old Bethzy Chavez Delacruz, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the silver car, 31-year-old Carol Goodwin, also suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies say Delacruz is being investigated for impairment.
