Bees swarm Dewey home, attack resident and pets
DEWEY, Ariz. (AP) - A swarm of bees has attacked a Dewey resident and killed two dogs.
The Daily Courier reports Central Yavapai Fire District firefighters responded to the home after a bee attack had been reported.
The fire district's division chief, Rick Chase, says the person who reported the incident was found swatting at bees in a truck in the driveway.
Two dogs died from bee stings, despite being taken to an animal hospital.
A cat was rescued from the attack, but it is not known whether the cat survived.
A portion of the roof had to be removed Tuesday to allow a beekeeper in to collect the bees that had taken over the attic.
Firefighters foamed the remainder of the bees.
