Businesses dealing with flood damage following rain from remnants of Rosa

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- Many Valley businesses are still reeling from Tuesday's flood, and they're gearing up for more rain later this week.

Many places, especially paces north of Phoenix and Scottsdale, are still trying to recover from all the water damage inside their offices. One business, Solis Mammography's location at the Cholla Estates, will remain closed for at least three weeks, because of the latest flood.

"Within 20 minutes, we were under water," said Kathy Wilson, Solis Mammography's VP of Operations. "We had water six inches deep in the facility."

In Wilson's office, the carpets are still drying out.

"We have some equipment that's been damaged that we use to image our patients," said Wilson. "And then we have flooring damage, wall damage."

Wilson said thousands of dollars worth of screening equipment were damaged, the main reason the office will be closed for several weeks.

"So we just have to figure out how to remediate that damage most quickly, so we can get back into serving our patients at this location," said Wilson.

Several other offices in the plaza were also closed on Wednesday, dealing with similar damage. As for Wilson, she says she's just glad she was able to evacuate the area Tuesday, all of the patients and staff in time.

"We just want to focus on moving forward," said Wilson.

Another side effects from the heavy rain is leaking roofs. Many local roofing companies have said they've been inundated with calls for roof repairs. While Solis Mammography will be closed at their Cholla Estates location, they have other locations in Glendale, Phoenix and Chandler, where they are directing their patients.
