Do you know how to drive in the rain?

Rain got you down? You'll feel a whole lot worse if it leads to a car accident. Here are some tips to keep you safe whether you live where it's wet half the year or where it feels like the apocalypse when it rains.

Be prepared before it rains. Make certain all vehicle lights work, windshield wipers are in good condition, and tires are properly inflated.

When those raindrops do begin to fall, be extra cautious in the first 10 minutes when the water mixes with oil residue.

Avoid hard braking or turning sharply.

When possible, try to drive in the tracks of the vehicle ahead of you.

Drive near the middle of the road. Because they're are slightly higher there and drain toward the edges.

But, the most important thing you can do is slow down. It's a tough concept in a non-stop world, but it's essential. It takes longer to stop on wet surfaces and you should create more distance than in normal conditions.

Remember these tips and above all, take your time. We can wait a few extra minutes.
