Westbound I-10 at Bullard is re-opened after crews responded to a serious crash involving a semi-truck.

The Arizona Department of Transportation closed all westbound lanes after 12:15 p.m. while authorities treated patients and investigated the crash. By 2:36 p.m. crews had re-opened the freeway to traffic.

Fire officials say they had to extricate one driver out of a mini-van; it took rescuers 30 minutes to get the driver out of the wreckage.

Witnesses say the semi-truck was moving at a slower speed trying to exit the freeway when it was struck by a mini-van, and then by a red passenger car.

The drivers of the van and red car were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating.
