Investigation at Tempe apartment complex may be related to MCSO deputy shooting

An investigation is underway at a Tempe apartment complex that may be connected to a shooting involving a deputy.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, along with other agencies, are responding to a barricade situation at an apartment complex near the Loop 101 and University.

Authorities say the investigation may be related to a shooting involving a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputy, who was shot in the leg during a traffic stop on the morning of May 7.

A press conference has been scheduled for Wednesday morning in relation to this investigation and how it's connected to the deputy-involved shooting.

The deputy was operating a DUI patrol near Price and University when a suspect opened fire on him and immediately left the scene.

The deputy was released from the hospital on Monday.

The suspect was driving an 80's or 90's silver Cadillac and Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery has increased the reward for any information leading to an arrest in the case to $40,000.
