Man killed in Phoenix shooting, suspect arrested

A shooting in Phoenix on Monday night left a man dead and a suspect arrested.

The shooting happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 near 32nd Avenue and Indian School Road.

What we know:

Phoenix Police say officers responded to reports of a fight in the area, but the incident was upgraded after someone called 911 saying someone had been shot.

When officers got to the scene, they found 30-year-old Ronnie Roper with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

What they're saying:

Investigators say they were able to identify 51-year-old Vincent Frago as the suspect.

"On January 21, 2025, Frago was located and arrested," police said. "After being interviewed, Frago was booked into jail on one count of murder."
