MCSO: Woman dead after car collides with semi in Buckeye

BUCKEYE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a woman is dead after the car she was driving collided with a big rig in Buckeye.

Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say the victim has been identified as 35-year-old Alma Mancilla.

They say the two vehicles collided near Jackrabbit Trail and Maricopa County 85 about 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Helicopter footage showed a sedan and semi-truck that were both off of the road with the driver's-side compartment on the passenger car partially crushed by the truck.

Sheriff's officials say the big rig was transporting manure at the time.

They say speed and impairment don't appear to factors in the crash and it's believed that Mancilla's vehicle failed to yield to the semi-truck.

Authorities say the 51-year-old driver of the big rig suffered only minor injuries.
