Memorial held for Arizona marine killed in hit and run
PHOENIX, Ariz. (KSAZ) - This weekend a memorial was held for an Arizona marine who was killed in a hit and run crash.
The family of Sergeant Brian Uentillie says he died in December of last year after a hit and run crash near 16th Street and Indian School Road.
To this day, the driver has never been found.
Uentillie's family members drove down from the Navajo Nation Saturday to hold a birthday celebration in his memory. They released balloons at the memorial site.
"It's really hard to understand how something like that can happen and how we're not able to find with all this technology, we cannot find who did this to him," said Uentillie's sister, Alessandra Uentillie.
