Minnesota woman dies following skydiving accident in Eloy

A 55-year-old woman died following a parachuting accident in Eloy on Friday, Jan. 24.

What we know:

According to a post on Facebook by the Eloy Police Department, complications during the descent of a skydive led to a distress call around 4:00 p.m.

When paramedics arrived, lifesaving measures were started, but the parachutist was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was later identified as Ann Wick from Minnesota. Based on her Facebook page, Wick was an experienced skydiver with ample experience.

The incident is under investigation by the FAA.

Police said "unexpected complications arose," which led to a hard landing and the death of 73-year-old Terry Gardner.
