Officer involved in North Phoenix shooting identified

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- Phoenix Police officials have released the identity of an officer who was injured during an officer involved shooting in North Phoenix.

According to police, officer Adrian Cruz has been released from the hospital, and is recovering at home surrounded by family and friends. The incident happened on the night of August 16, and Cruz, along with suspect Brett Knudsen, were taken to the same hospital for treatment.

Earlier in the week, FOX 10 Phoenix learned that Knudson, 41, was an actor for several years, and had been featured in several local roles. According to police on Thursday, Knudson remains hospitalized.
