Officers investigate suspected animal cruelty case

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Police are investigate a case of suspected animal cruelty at a home near 85th Avenue and Indian School.

Authorities got a call of injured animals at the home. When they arrived they found the resident who owns 12 dogs and discovered 8 dogs dead and 4 ill.

Investigators say there are no obvious signs of trauma to the dogs and an autopsy has been scheduled.

Detectives say other pets nearby have died or fallen ill from an unknown source in May.
