Phoenix Fire: Man rescued from flood waters overnight

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Tense moments late Saturday night as Phoenix Firefighters worked to rescue a man stuck in waist-deep water in the Salt River bed.

Members of the technical rescue team had to use a life raft to reach the man.

The water was moving very fast, according to firefighters, which made it tough to reach the man. It was very cold and Phoenix Fire said the man wasn't coherently communicating with them so they made the call to launch the rescue raft.

The man was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for hypothermia. No word on how he got into the water in the first place.
