Phoenix Police investigate deadly shooting near convenience store, suspect wanted

PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Phoenix Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened near a convenience store Saturday night.

Police say at 11:30 p.m. Joseph Deleon, 32, was near a 7-Eleven at 24th St and McDowell when they were shot. Witnesses reported hearing a shot or shots being fired at the time.

Deleon was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries, according to Police.

After investigating, police determined when the Deleon got out of his car the suspect shot him for unknown reasons. The suspect then tried to drive away in the victim's car but couldn't. They then ran away and was hit by a vehicle in McDowell Rd. The suspect continued to run after being hit and the driver left the scene as well.

Police are still looking for the suspect.
