PHOTOS: ‘Bomb storm' dumps snow over DC, Maryland and Virginia

The much-anticipated "bomb storm" swept through DC overnight as it made its way up the East Coast and it did not disappoint snow enthusiast.

Maryland's Eastern Shore received the brunt of the snow as Blizzard Warnings were issued. Wind gusts there were up to 45 mph and visibility was less than a mile.

The heaviest snow totals were located along the beaches of Maryland and Virginia. The storm caused numerous closings and delays, as well as snarling traffic in some areas.
