Residents cleaning up property damage after weekend monsoon
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Last weekend's storms were officially the first major storms the state has seen in 2017.
The first storm always seems to hit the hardest, as down trees, power outages, debris and damage littered the streets.
Natives say year after year, it still takes them by surprise and newcomers are shocked.
Places like Peoria, Surprise, Phoenix and most of the northwest valley experience dust, heavy rain and whipping winds.
With utility crews out in full force and clean up well underway, some admit as long as no one was hurt, and the damage wasn't too bad, storms in the valley can be thrilling.
