Showers in the Valley on Sunday

Showers came rolling into the Valley on Sunday morning as a low pressure system began moving into the area from California.

Rains were spotted primarily in Glendale and the northwest Valley, in addition to scattered showers in downtown Phoenix, Guadalupe and Tempe. Trace amounts of rainfall were measured in Chandler and Scottsdale. Weather-spotters reported rain in the city of Maricopa as well.

More than a tenth of an inch of rain fell in many parts of the Valley. More rain is expected in the Valley later on Sunday, with the possibility of strong winds and blowing dust.

A new round of rainstorms is possible on Monday, and temperatures are expected to drop to the upper 80's later in the week
