Vehicles goes up in flames on Loop 101

Eastbound 101 was temporarily shut down at 35th Avenue on Saturday morning for a car fire.

Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers say the vehicle burst into flames at about 6:45 a.m. on the eastbound 101.

Fire crews spent nearly fifteen minutes working to get the flames under control while traffic was halted on the highway.

Fortunately, nobody was injured during the incident, DPS troopers say, and traffic was moving again on the highway by 7:15 a.m.
