Adoption fees waived for animals at Arizona Humane Society through the rest of July

The Arizona Humane Society is waving adoption fees throughout the month. The deal starts July 11 and runs through July 31 at both adoption locations. Puppies and kittens are included. This is part of its efforts to find homes for more than 750 pets by the end of the month. You will also receive some free food and a follow-up exam.

11-year-old gifted a Corgi puppy through Make-A-Wish Arizona

11-year-old Bryce was recently diagnosed with leukemia in April. After doctors told her she needed two major surgeries, she's been in recovery ever since. Bryce's mom said during therapy she always looked forward to the therapy dog's visits and told her that her wish was to have her own dog to snuggle and take care of. It was after her second surgery that doctors recommended Make-A-Wish Arizona. On July 8, the foundation granted her wish when she met her Corgi puppy for the very first time.

HALO Animal Rescue steps up to help Maricopa County Animal Care and Control with influx of pets

Maricopa County Animal Care and Control is facing a housing issue from incoming rescue dogs. It picked up a number of strays over the holiday weekend but has already been stretched thin as pandemic puppies get surrendered. The rescue is so packed, that it's working to set up emergency housing inside its conference room. HALO Animal Rescue is stepping up to assist animal control and is offering make-shift cages for when the county becomes overcrowded.
