Arizona Coyotes entertainment district developer fires back against opponents with lawsuit

The developer behind the proposed Arizona Coyotes entertainment district in Tempe has filed a notice of claim against the city of Phoenix. It intends to sue the city for $2.3 billion accusing Phoenix of trying to interfere with the project. Bluebird Development and the Coyotes have also filed to intervene in the Phoenix lawsuit against Tempe over the district. Phoenix claims the residential portion of the project would negatively impact Sky Harbor Airport. Bluebird says Phoenix is essentially acting in bad faith by trying to stop the development even after assuring it would not.
