PD: Mom arrested after leaving child in running car with fentanyl
A Tempe woman is facing counts including child abuse after police say she left her 4-year-old daughter alone in a car with fentanyl pills inside the vehicle. Officers say Lupita Alvarez-Beltran left the car running while she went into a bar on Mill Avenue in Tempe to look for her cell phone that she lost at the business. They say she returned a few minutes later and was met by police. Investigators say they could smell burnt fentanyl in the car, and say they found several fentanyl pills in the vehicle, which could have been ingested by her daughter.
