RESPONSIBILITIES: Install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot digital and IP broadcast platforms including stream encoders, cloud video systems, cameras, routers, switchers (primarily Newtek TriCaster platform), graphics generation, microwave, transmission and associated terminal equipment. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years experience hands-on digital media experience preferred, related to digital video platform engineering and operations. Must have exceptional IT skills and an understanding of computers and networking as they apply to broadcast and cloud video environment. Current, relevant experience with digital video compression/encoding techniques, ATSC transmission, iNews, and Bitcentral Newsroom a definite plus. Comprehensive knowledge of digital media technology, including content production, video capture and encoding, content management, and distribution of live/linear and VOD content to web and mobile platforms a plus. Understanding of video standards and transport protocols. Understanding of Video Management Systems (Anvato, Brightcove, VDMS, etc.) and DAI technologies (VAST, SCTE, etc.) Experience with current and upcoming digital media cloud technologies (Amazon Elemental MediaLive and MediaPackage).
