AMBER ALERT CANCELED: Police arrest father accused of abducting 1-month-old baby
YUMA, Ariz. (KSAZ) - An Amber Alert has been canceled after police arrested a man accused of abducting his 1-month-old son from his Yuma home.
The Yuma Police Department says 23-year-old Alfredo Lopez has been arrested and 1-month-old Azriel Lopez has been found.
Police were searching for Alfredo Lopez after he allegedly abducted Azriel from a home near 20th Street and South Avenue C just after 3 a.m. on Wednesday.
During the abduction, police say Alfredo assaulted three people; a 47-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman.
Alfredo Lopez and Azriel were later found near 28th Street and Madison Avenue. Alfredo was taken into custody and Azriel is now safe.
Two of the three people allegedly assaulted by Alfredo Lopez have been hospitalized with unknown injuries.
Police say Alfredo is the father of Israel but has no parental rights at this time.
Alfredo Lopez was last seen driving a black 2011 GMC pickup truck with an Arizona license plate BVD1716. The truck has black rims and blue tinted headlights.
Alfredo Lopez is described as a Hispanic male, 5'9", 150 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
1-month-old Azriel is described as a male weighing between nine to 10 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Israel was last seen wearing a Mickey Mouse onesie.
