Another clog concern: 3 Liquid Plumr products recalled

Got a clog? You also have a recall to learn about before you try to get your pipe flowing again.

The recalls involve three Liquid Plumr products: Pro-Strength Foaming Clog Fighter, Industrial Strength Urgent Clear, and Pro-Strength Urgent Clear clog removers.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the problem is "The recalled bottles are not child-resistant and children can remove the top, posing a risk of chemical burns and irritation to the skin and eyes. These products contain sodium hydroxide which is required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act to be sealed with child-resistant packaging."

There are about 5.4 million of the products out there. They are sold in 17 ounce bottles that are about nine inches tall.

The Pro-Strength Foaming Clog Fighter has a UPC Code 44600-00214 and an orange bottle with a red cap.

The Industrial Strength Urgent Clear has a UPC Code 44600-31484 and a black bottle with a red cap.

And the Pro-Strength Urgent Clear has a UPC Code 44600-30548 and a blue bottle with a red cap.

Clorox has received eight reports of the child-resistant bottle caps not working as intended and 221 reports of the bottles leaking. No injuries have been reported.

That's why consumers should keep this recalled product away from children, and immediately click here for disposal and refund instructions, or call 855-490-0705 weekdays.
