Arizona mother accused of killing her 2 children pleads not guilty

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A judge entered a not guilty plea on behalf of an Arizona mother accused of killing her two young children.

Brittany Velasquez, 20, is accused of killing her 2-year-old son and 10-month-old daughter. Superior police say Velasquez left the two children strapped in their car seats for more than 14 hours last month.

Velasquez blames a babysitter for her kids' deaths, saying the babysitter was watching her kids on the day they died. Court documents show Velasquez also blamed her grandparents for the deaths.

Both children have been laid to rest.
