Authorities searching for suspect in fatal hit-and-run

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Authorities are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian early Thursday morning.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says the pedestrian was hit near Southern and Meridian at about 1:30 a.m., and the suspect was believed to be traveling eastbound on Southern towards Meridian during the collision.

The suspect's vehicle is white and may have sustained damage on the front, passenger side of the vehicle.

The victim's identity has not been released.
