Chuck Norris death: Social media tributes for legendary actor

Reactions are pouring in from celebrities and politicians following the death of Chuck Norris. The legendary actor passed away at the age of 86.

Norris died Thursday morning in Hawaii, according to the family, who said, "It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday [Thursday] morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace."

Actor Sylvester Stallone paid tribute to Chuck Norris on Instagram, writing: "I had a great time working with Chuck. He was All American in every way. Great man and my condolences to his wonderful family."

Actor Dolph Lundgren remembered Norris posting on Instagram: "Chuck Norris is the champ. Ever since I was a young martial artist and later getting into movies, I always looked up to him as a role model. Someone who had the respect, humility and strength it takes to be a man. We will miss you, my friend."

Singer and entertainer Donny Osmond remembered Norris, writing, "Heartbroken to hear of Chuck Norris’s passing. In the early '70s, Elvis introduced my brothers and me to Chuck to add karate — including teaching me how to break boards — to our act in order to put forth a tougher onstage image. He taught us Tang Soo Do and pushed us to be stronger in every way. Tough in training, but one of the kindest souls you could ever know. I’ll always be grateful. Rest well, my friend."

Guy Fieri, an American restaurateur and author, shared his thoughts on Norris on X, posting: "RIP to the legend Chuck Norris My all time favorite Goods guys wear black."

Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanayhu, paid tribute to Norris on social media, writing: "Sara and I were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chuck Norris, a great friend of Israel and a close personal friend. Chuck brought martial arts and the warmth of his character to millions around the world. May his memory be a blessing."

World Wrestling Entertainment shared a post on Norris writing, "WWE is saddened to learn that legendary Hollywood actor and pop culture icon Chuck Norris has passed away. WWE extends its condolences to Norris’ family, friends, and fans."

South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace paid tribute to Norris on X, writing: "Rest in peace, Chuck Norris. To the world he was a martial artist, an action hero, and a symbol of American strength. To his family he was a devoted husband, a loving father, and the heart of their home. He lived his life with an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Chuck was 86."

Actor Joe Piscopo remembered Norris on social media Friday, posting "Just heard that the Legend - The Man - Mr. Chuck Norris has passed away. I was honored to work with Chuck. It was a life changing and treasured experience that I will hold dearly in my heart forever. Sending love, respect and heartfelt condolences to the Norris Family. Rest In Peace, Good Sir."

Former NFL star and FOX Sports analyst Robert Griffin III wrote: "Prayers up for the family, friends and fans of the legendary Chuck Norris who passed away at the age of 86. Rest in Peace Walker, Texas Ranger. "

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott shared his thoughts on Norris in an X post Friday, writing:

Texas Congressman Wesley Hunt paid tribute to Norris on X writing, "Today we say goodbye to a true American icon. Chuck Norris was a symbol of strength, discipline, and unwavering character. From his service in the United States Air Force to becoming a world champion martial artist and one of the most recognizable faces in American television, he embodied what it means to live with purpose."
