PHOENIX (FOX 10) - The community is coming together for a family who lost their 1-year-old. Priscilla, to sexual assault.

The tragedy happened last week. The baby girl died after John Aldana, who was supposed to be watching her, is accused of physically and sexually abusing her. The 1-year-old girl's mother says she left her daughter with him on Sunday while she ran to the pharmacy. When she got back, she says the baby had obvious injuries and later died as a result.

But on Saturday, friends and family of the little girl came together for a car was to help pay for funeral expenses.

"I'm actually very grateful for everybody that came out and showed up," said Barney Perez, Priscilla's uncle. "And I appreciate everybody. There's a couple more car washes going on [and] I appreciate them, too. I want to thank everybody for coming out. On behalf of my family, we all appreciate you. We thank you and God bless all of [you]."

Aldana is behind bars and is now facing child abuse charges.
