Deputies looking for suspect who robbed roadside vendor, lit stolen car on fire

Sheriff's deputies are looking for a suspect who allegedly robbed a roadside vendor and then set a stolen vehicle on fire in February.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office says on Feb. 14, a man driving a black sedan pulled up to a 62-year-old woman, who was selling Bonsai trees along Hunt Highway and Thompson Road, and robbed her at gunpoint.

When the victim did not immediately comply with his demands, the suspect poured gasoline all over the sedan and lit it on fire.

The suspect then took the victim's SUV and left the scene.

Deputies discovered the black sedan was a stolen vehicle out of Chandler.

The suspect is described as an African-American man in his 30's, 5'10", 170 to 180 pounds and he was wearing a gray hooded-sweatshirt.

The victim's SUV is a Hyundai Santa Fe with Texas license plates.
