Driver plows into Phoenix canal, taken into custody after being rescued

A car ended up plowing into a Phoenix canal Sunday. The crash happened in the morning near 27th Avenue and Grand Canal Trail. Phoenix Police say the vehicle was in 2 feet of water.

PHOENIX - A car ended up plowing into a Phoenix canal Sunday.

The crash happened in the morning near 27th Avenue and Grand Canal Trail. Phoenix Police say the vehicle was in 2 feet of water.

Crews were able to safely walk the driver out of the canal and the unidentified driver was taken into custody.

It's not clear how the driver ended up in the canal.
