End of an era: Toys 'R' Us stores close for good

Well, it's the day we all knew was coming... and now it's here. All Toys "R" Us stores will close after today, so customers can shop last-minute steals before Toys "R" Us closes its doors for the last time.

In March, Toys "R" Us announced its plans to start liquidation nationwide. The store closings came after the steady decline in sales when e-commerce became the new shopping trend.

"It's sad. A lot of kids are really probably shopping online Amazon a place like that, but there's something special about going to a store like Toys "R" Us," said Dale Shough, a customer. "[I] remember when I was a kid going to LA for the first time and it's so sad to go."

Today, every item must go and with stores across the Valley clearing its shelves, it's a bittersweet day for loyal customers.

"Empty. Sad that no one goes to brick-and-mortar stores anymore," Jason Sharp said. "There's a specific item in here. I'm actually ministry in our area and others specific things I'd like to get to display students' artwork on the walls, actually."

Not only will Toys "R" Us stores be closing, but also all Babies "R" Us stores will be liquidating all sales after today.
